Connecting to Virtual Machines using Console

This guide explains how to connect to your virtual machines (VMs) on the CloudPe platform using the VNC console.

Before connecting to your VM, ensure you have set a strong password for the VM. A strong password enhances the security of your VM. Follow these steps to create a strong password:

  1. Length: Use at least 12 characters.
  2. Complexity: Include a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
  3. Avoid Common Words: Do not use easily guessable words or sequences (e.g., “password”, “123456”).
  4. Uniqueness: Use a password that is unique and not reused across multiple accounts or services.

Important: If you don’t follow these guidelines while creating the password, you can have difficulties using the console to access your virtual machine.

Connecting to a Virtual Machine via the Console (Linux)

  1. Select the VM you wish to connect to from your CloudPe dashboard.
  2. Click Console in the right pane of the VM details page. The console will open in a separate browser window.
  3. Double click inside the terminal and enter the Username. e.g. root
  4. Then enter the secured password which you have set for the VM and you will get the access to that VM on console.

Connecting to a Virtual Machine via the Console (Windows)

  1. Select the Windows VM you wish to access and click Console in the right pane of the CloudPe dashboard.
  2. Select the Country, Language and Keyboard Layout and click on Next button.
  3. Review and accept the license terms to proceed.
  4. Set/Type the Password for the Administrator Account. So your account will be opened to access.
  5. Send Key Combinations: Use this feature to send specific key combinations (e.g., Ctrl+Alt+Del) to the VM.
  6. Input the Administrator password you set earlier to access the Windows VM.

By following these steps, you can easily connect to your VMs on CloudPe using the VNC console and manage them as needed.
